What is AI?

AI or Artificial Intelligence is a wide-ranging branch of Computing involved with building sensible machines capable of the talks that generally need human intelligence. Looking at the core of AI, it is a branch of Computer Science that aims to replicate human intelligence in machines. Simply, AI is building machines that are intelligent

From SIRI and Google Assistant to Self-driving Cars, Artificial Intelligence is growing with a very fast pace. Some Examples of AI
  • Smart Assistant like Siri & Alexa
  • Drone Bots
  • Spam Filters on Email
  • Social Media Mopping tools for dangerous content
  • TV shows & Songs recommendations in Apps like Spotify, Netflix etc.

Why AI is dangerous?

According to the researchers, they somehow agree that super-intelligent AI can become dangerous for humans. They can do something devastating. Consider, Autonomous weapon that is programmed to kill with the help of artificial intelligence within the hands of a person with bad intentions, these weapons may simply cause mass causalities.

You probably have watched the popular movie series ‘Transformers’ what if, Robots designed for wars or for safety purposes with super-intelligence became uncontrollable for, they probably will tissue these powers.

Another big reason for calling AI as one of the most dangerous things is the IA war that also results in mass causalities.

Machine Learning(ML) Vs Artificial Intelligence(AI)

Machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are two very hot buzzwords, and often seen to be confused by each other. They are not quite same but sometimes it leads to confusion. As from the above article, we know that Artificial Intelligence is used in machines in contrast to the intelligence in humans. Machine learning is nothing but, a way of learning or achieving artificial Intelligence (AI). So, after this don’t get confused between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Let’s deep dive into subcategories of AI & ML to understand differences between them.

1. Artificial Intelligence

The main objective of AI is to make machines able to think like a human brain. Artificial Intelligence is further classified into two categories :

(a) Artificial General Intelligence
The AGI or Artificial General Intelligence is an emerging field aiming at the building of thinking machines. It refers to the field which makes machines capable of thinking like humans or perhaps beyond humane general intelligence. It intended to develop and demonstrate understanding and reasoning skills in machines.

(b) Artificial Applied Intelligence
Artificial Applied Intelligence (AAI) is generally defined for an application of AI to make a high-functioning system for a dedicated purpose that replicates human intelligence and sometimes surpasses it.

2. Machine Learning.

Talking about ML, it is a subfield of AI, where machines are so that they can work on themselves and learn new things by themselves to adapt to changes. Machine learning is also subdivided into two categories based on ML algorithms:

(a) Unsupervised Machine Learning
It is a self-learning technique in which a machine system need to discover the features of the input population and no training is required for it.

(b) Supervised Machine Learning
In this technique, learning is acquired by giving training and input and output patterns to the system.
